Essay on Diwali (Deepawali)
Diwali is our most important festival. Diwali means a row of lamps. It is a festival of lights. We celebrate it on the Amavasya of Kartika.
On this day Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya after fourteen years of ‘Vanvas’. The people were very happy. They welcomed Ram with great joy. They lighted earthen lamps.
Diwali is a festival of joy. People white-wash their houses and shops. Every body puts on new clothes. At night, people decorate their houses with burning lamps. Rows of burning lamps look very beautiful.Children are very happy, because they get new clothes, sweets and they enjoy fire works.
We worship Laxmi, the goddess of wealth. Businessmen open new accounts this day. It is holy and joyful festival. We should keep away from gambling and drinking on this holy day. We must celebrate it in a nice way.
Jawahar Lal Nehru
A GREAT MAN (Pt. JAWAHARLAL NEHRU )– Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was a great leader of our country. He was born on the 14th of November, 1889 at Allahabad.
He was the only son of his parents. His father’s name was Pandit Motilal Nehru.
Nehruji received his primary education at home. He went to London to study Law.
Nehru came back to India as a barrister. In 1916 .he followed Gandhiji.
Nehru fought for India’s freedom. He was sent to jail many times.
Javaharlal became the first Prime Minister of free India.
Nehru loved peace,India, children and red rose. Children call him ‘Chacha Nehru. They celebrate ‘Children’s Day‘ on 14th of November.
He died on 27th May, 1964. We love him. His name will remain forever. India loves him.

THE COW– The cow is a domestic animal. She is a gentle animal. A cow is a quadruped animal. Cows are of many colours. She has a huge body. The cow has two eyes, two ears, two horns and a tail. The cow eats grass, grain and straw. She likes green fodder much.
The cow is a very useful animal. She gives us milk. Cow’s milk is sweet and light. We make curd, butter and ghee from cow’s milk. She gives us calves also. Calves become bullocks. Bullocks plough our fields. Bullocks pull our carts also.
Cow dung and urine are of great use. Her dung makes the soil rich for cultivation.
It is used as manure. It is a good manure. The villagers use her dung as fuel. By burning cow dung, they lose a precious thing. After death its skin, horns and bones are used. Hindus call her Gaumata and worship her.
MY TEACHER (PRINCIPAL) Mr. Thakur is our class teacher/principal.
He teaches us English. He is a very polite man. He teaches us well. He wears white dress.

Independence Day Essay-15th August
INDEPENDENCE DAY (15th AUGUST)– India became free on 15th of August, 1947. We celebrate this day every year. We assemble in our school in the morning. The flag is hoisted by a reputed person. All teachers and students salute the National Flag. Then the National Anthem is sung. Our teachers distribute sweets to the children.
In big cities military parades are also held. At night people light earthen lamps and candles in their houses and shops. We celebrate this day with great joy. Our Prime Minister speaks to the nation on this day.
This day reminds us of the sacrifices made by our leaders. This day is very important for us. We should live an honest life. This will bring prosperity to the nation.
Essay on Republic Day
(Republic Day of India) Annual function of my school is celebrated on 26th of January every year. On 26th January our country became a republic. So it is our national festival also. We celebrate it with great joy every year.
There is flag hoisting in the morning. National Anthem is sung. Our principal speaks about the day. Sweets are distributed. In the noon there are sports and games. In the evening, there is cultural programme. The programmes of my school are super. Thus, this day, from morning to night is full of enjoyment and happiness.
